About

I was born on the east coast but transplanted to a small, southeast Nebraska town when I was three. Douglas, Nebraska (pop. 250) was my home until 2006 when I moved to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Graduation: December 2010 with a BA in English and a minor in Film Studies. I spent most of my time in college supporting myself while working as a server/bartender at various restaurants and bars.

I’ve been writing, playing and performing music since I was 16, formerly under the monikers South of Lincoln and The Great American Desert and I am currently the primary songwriter for the Omaha-based band Oquoa. I spend a good part of my time booking and promoting shows at venues locally and regionally, maintaining social media and promotions for these projects and writing lyrics and music.

From the December 2008 to January 2011 I was the co-host of KRNU specialty show Lost and Found, showcasing the best in local music.

I did film reviews and edited the footage for starcityblog.com in a video-blog piece called Two guys, One film.

I interned for Duffy’s Tavern (http://www.duffyslincoln.com) and Poster Child Productions (http://posterchildproductions.net) assisting in the writing of press releases, doing some of the leg work for the websites and performing any other duties handed to me from January 2010 to October 2011.

After relocating to Omaha and working at Mojo Smokehouse & Ales, I supplemented my work as a bartender and manager there by generating in-house copy and maintaining the website and social media for them from January 2012 to October 2013 when the business closed. Since then I’ve worked in various bars and restaurants and focused my efforts on music.
